Welcome to YaWriter — a smart platform for writing and reviewing books. By using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read these terms carefully before using the platform. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use our services. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and YaWriter. We recommend reviewing our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your data. You must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent to use our services.

Copyright and Licenses

You retain moral rights to the authorship and integrity of your work. However, you grant YaWriter limited rights to use, distribute, and monetize your content in accordance with the terms below.

Books from Scratch

When creating a book from scratch on the YaWriter platform, you grant the service a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to use, distribute, publish, edit, and monetize your content. YaWriter has the right to place, sell, and advertise your book on any channels managed by the service or its affiliates. You retain author status and the right to request removal of the book with 30 days' notice.

Enhanced Books

When uploading a book written previously, you grant YaWriter a limited non-exclusive license only to the enhanced version of the book. The original version remains entirely at your disposal, and you have the right to distribute it in any way you choose. YaWriter does not have exclusive rights to the enhanced version — you may simultaneously place it on any other platforms.

Content Rights and Distribution

Distribution terms depend on the type of your book:

For Books from Scratch

While the book is placed on YaWriter, distribution exclusivity applies — you cannot publish the same content on third-party platforms (Amazon, Apple Books, etc.). You may sell the book only through channels owned or managed by YaWriter, or through affiliated partners explicitly approved by the service.

For Enhanced Books

You retain complete freedom of distribution. You may simultaneously publish the book on Amazon, Apple Books, your own website, and any other channels. YaWriter does not impose any exclusive restrictions on the enhanced version.

You may at any time request removal of the book from the YaWriter platform by providing 30 days' notice. After removal, all distribution restrictions are lifted. You may continue to use the content at your discretion.

Distribution Restrictions

For books from scratch, the following restrictions apply:

Permitted Sales Channels

  • Official YaWriter website and mobile applications
  • Online bookstores owned or managed by YaWriter
  • Authorized affiliate partners explicitly approved by YaWriter

Prohibited Actions

  • Selling the book on third-party marketplaces (Amazon, Apple Books, etc.)
  • Direct sales to readers outside the YaWriter platform
  • Self-publishing the same content on other services

For enhanced books, these restrictions DO NOT apply. You may distribute them on any channels and in any formats of your choice.

Violation of distribution restrictions for books from scratch will result in immediate account termination, loss of unpaid revenue, and possible legal action.

Rights Buyback Option

Authors of books from scratch have the option to buy back full rights to their book and remove all distribution restrictions.

The buyback price is negotiable and determined individually based on the following factors:

  • Sales history and revenue received over the entire placement period
  • Marketing investments made by YaWriter
  • Time the book has been on the platform
  • Current and projected future sales potential
  • Costs of editing, design, and technical support

To discuss buyback, contact us through the contact form on the website. We will review the request within 30 days. After successful buyback and full payment:

  • All distribution restrictions are removed
  • You receive 100% of future revenue from any sales channels
  • YaWriter retains no rights to your content
  • You may publish anywhere of your choice

Buyback is optional and not guaranteed. YaWriter reserves the right to decline buyback requests without explanation.

For enhanced books, buyback is not required — you already have complete distribution freedom.

Compensation and Payments

Compensation terms and revenue distribution are established individually depending on the type of book, placement conditions, and other factors. Specific monetization terms may be specified:

  • In a separate agreement signed between the author and YaWriter
  • In the author's personal account on the platform
  • In a notification letter sent to the author's email

By default, compensation is paid to the author in accordance with data available in the personal account. If specific terms are not specified, the author may contact support for clarification.

YaWriter reserves the right to change compensation terms for future book placements, but not for books already placed on the platform without the author's consent.
